Level It: Women's Art Handlers Network

Level It is a network of women-identified art handlers, museum preparators, and specialty fabricators who unite for equity, growth, and empowerment in our field. Through technical training and shared professional resources we strive to break down barriers for entry and advancement in the industry.
When highly skilled, knowledgeable, and confident women thrive, we all benefit.

In 2015, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation released the first comprehensive survey of diversity in American art museums and found that only 15% of preparators and art handlers in museums identify as non-white and only 25% identify as non-male. We see this reflected in the private sector as well.
Your donation directly contributes to the Level It mission by funding workshops and subsidizing attendance so we may ensure that our programming is accessible to all.

In 2018 we hosted 15+ events, 5 sold out workshops, presented as a part of an all-women panel of art exhibition specialists at the Western Museum Conference, and connected women across the country. Help us fund even more ambitious programming in 2019 with your donation today.

Level It was co-founded by Jes Gettler, Exhibition Designer / Lead Preparator at the Henry Art Gallery and Alexa Anderson, Preparator at the Seattle Art Museum.
